ICTS security staff secure inflation beating deal
Unite can confirm that ICTS security staff based at Aberdeen airport have accepted an enhanced pay offer, following an improved last-minute offer, resulting in industrial action being called off.
The airport workers have backed an inflation beating pay award which will lift basic hourly wages by 6.5 per cent alongside an improved overtime rate.
ICTS HBS Security made a last minute pay offer just as workers were set for fourteen days of strike action throughout July and into August. As a gesture of goodwill Unite suspended all industrial action until the vote on the enhanced pay offer was complete.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Unite’s members at ICTS stood firm throughout this dispute. The enhanced pay offer was a direct result of our members being prepared to take lengthy strike action. It’s another win for Unite boosting jobs, terms and conditions in the aviation industry.”
The parent group ICTS (UK) Limited recorded its latest annual accounts in April, which show profits of £7.6m in 2025 up from £4.4m in the previous year.
Unite recently successfully resolved another two separate pay disputes at Aberdeen airport involving ICTS central search and Aberdeen Airport Limited workers.
Unite industrial officer Paula Buchan said: “The pay deal for ICTS security workers is an inflation beating pay award which we are pleased to have delivered for our members.”
“The workers stood firm and refused to back down. The dispute is now over and it's the latest pay success for workers based at Aberdeen airport.”
